Crafts at the Cathedral 2026
Everything I make used to be a 100% cashmere sweater. For Christmas 2019 I experimented with using my own cast off sweaters to make mittens for my family. When the world shut down that spring, I picked up the scraps and a business was born. I developed my own patterns for an array of stuffed animals (octopus to mice) and other items. I challenge myself to use every last bit of a sweater: collars, button plackets, seams, and ribbing around wrists are the basis for jellyfish. I cut scraps into tiny hearts, and the smallest pieces come together for Napping Pillows. Giving a new life to items headed for landfills is certainly satisfying, but I also love thinking of fun and fabulous things this to make from this versatile, luxurious, beautiful material.
