Crafts at the Cathedral 2026
In my figurative art, I aim to capture the essence of human expression through interpretive depictions of facial and body gestures. Each piece is a reflection of the depth and complexity of human emotions, translated into three-dimensional form using mostly repurposed wood and paper products. Through my work, I explore the nuances of facial expressions and body language, the subtle shifts in mood, passion and feelings that manifest in every line, curve, and form.
My turn to cardboard was sparked during the pandemic, when Zoom teaching flattened human interaction, and the Age of Amazon filled doorsteps with discarded boxes—symbols of both isolation and excess. Refrigerator boxes, shipping containers, packaging materials once destined for the trash are now the foundation of her work. Upcycling is not just a practical choice; it’s a conceptual one. The repurposed material speaks to reinvention, resilience, and the overlooked beauty in what’s left behind.
