Carolyn discovered her love for woodworking and woodturning while serving in the U.S. Navy, a passion that was reignited years later during a kaleidoscope-making class on vacation in Sedona. She now specializes in creating handcrafted pens and other turned pieces, including bottle stoppers, tool handles, and birdhouse ornaments.
Her work is guided by a philosophy she calls “listening to the wood,” allowing the natural character of each piece to inspire its final form. Carolyn delights in exploring diverse materials and techniques to craft unique, functional art that brings beauty into everyday life. She is often heard saying, “Life is too short to carry an ugly pen.”
