Emily is a watercolor artist living and working in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. Her work narrates her experience overcoming struggle and finding strength with autoimmune disease. On the surface, her work celebrates a collection of hands. Yet underneath the layers of paint and pigment hold the history of memory and emotion. Hands are tools; a universal language. We carry so much that others don't see. And while we can't always choose the burden, we can decide how to carry it.
