Spring Rittenhouse 2026
I draw inspiration from the history of folk art and historical decorative arts across cultures. From early childhood, I was immersed in writing pysanky, learning techniques and absorbing the stories and rituals that shape the art form. I am drawn to pattern, repetition, and rhythm and how these elements appear in both historical and contemporary works. Study of museum collections and engagement with skilled artists informs my process and sparks new ideas. The natural world and the materials I use, including regionally sourced eggshells and locally harvested beeswax, shape my work. My goal is to create pieces that reflect tradition while allowing my artistic voice to emerge through considered composition, design, and material.
