Born into a family of three generations of painters, my ceramics are heavily influenced by my upbringing and experiences living in Japan and the United States. I create functional pottery that is either wheel thrown or slab built. Ceramics is used as a blank canvas for me to apply traditional watercolor painting to create whimsical botanical scenes. My creative goal is to be able to provide a moment of joy, of stillness, and of pause to embrace simplicity, asymmetry, and beauty.
