My aim is to transform the extraneous of a wasteful world into appealing imagery by using re-purposed materials as a medium, incorporating visuals from my surroundings, and drawing upon many years of experience as a graphic designer/art director. Each painting is an experiment intent on opening new possibilities and directions. Having an eyes wide open view of the world around me allows me to see potential in discarded material, which is in abundance. By reusing these and other found objects that would eventually make their way to a landfill, recycling center or just become litter, I challenge the viewer to see these unnatural materials as something that appears quite natural.
