I first started working with live edge lumber in New England about 15 years ago, when I worked with artisans in the region who specialized in live edge timber framing, and furniture. While there I developed my own designs and techniques to best honor the individuality of the beautiful curves and forms that are an inherent part of this material. Working with the natural organic edge of the tree inspires me, and pushes initial designs in new directions. This makes my work evolve almost like a piece of sculpture, where I continually reconsider the design thru the process of making.
