This may be a terrible to say but my mother was my inspiration, she was an awful cook. When I got out into the world and found food could be a transcending experience, I wanted to learn everything I could about the world of cooking. The New York Times Cookbook , with it's tattered and soiled pages was my bible in the beginning of my culinary journey!
