Rachel Calman is a graduate of the Hartford Art School where she first started pushing the boundaries of what was perceived as art through abstraction and color. While studying, color theory fascinated Rachel and became the basis for her current work. Through the use of mixed media (acrylics, textures, gold leafing, epoxy, and more) she creates unique pieces to evoke endless emotions in the viewer. After spending 10 years in the corporate world, Rachel recently started her company Nefesh studios, to get back to what she truly inspires here, creating art. This is where the inspiration for the company name "Nefesh" comes from as that is the Hebrew word for soul.
