I love to make functional and fun pieces of art using methods that have existed for thousands of years. As a history teacher I can talk about the past, but as a potter I can touch it.

A handmade mug always makes drinks tastier, a skinny neck vase requires my total focus and concentration, and a big pitcher or platter celebrates the joy of connecting through food and drink. I love bold colors or no color at all, the round shape you can achieve on the potter’s wheel, and the meditative challenge that comes from trying something new with clay.
