Felipe Bermúdez Durana Abstract Art
Brookdale Park Fall 2026
My work explores the tension between order and movement through simple geometric systems. Starting from carefully constructed grids, I develop patterns of lines that create shifting volumes, shadows, and optical effects. I’m inspired by the visual language of Op Art and Kinetic Art, especially artists like Bridget Riley and Carlos Cruz-Diez, but also by architectural drawing and the discipline of manual drafting. Each piece is constructed slowly by hand, allowing small variations in the lines to produce unexpected rhythms and depth. What interests me most is how a simple set of rules can generate complex visual experiences that change as the viewer moves around the work.
