Raised on a small island in the South Pacific, Tonga, Austin Zimmer acquired at an early age his deep appreciation for handcrafted items. The human figure and natural world consistently supply him with inspiration for new forms and designs. While the utilitarian aspect of his pieces speaks to his belief that form must work in concert with function, Austin also enjoys integrating movement, animation and whimsy into his pieces. ​Austin's goal is to create work that enriches not only the daily rituals of food preparation and presentation, but also the aesthetics of living.
