Crafts at the Cathedral 2026
My work is inspired by the landscapes I have lived in and continue to carry with me—rural and coastal places, open fields, and quiet moments beyond my window. Using wool, alpaca, silk, and other natural fibers, I create painterly felted works that explore light, depth, and texture. Color is layered slowly, allowing movement and atmosphere to emerge intuitively.
Much of the fiber I use comes from animals I have raised and prepare by hand. I work much like a painter builds pigment, constructing each piece layer by layer through a deliberate, tactile process shaped by touch, time, and close attention.
I am drawn to stillness and familiarity. Each piece becomes a tactile response to place, balancing structure and softness, presence and calm. These works invite reflection and connection, offering moments that feel grounded, quietly observed, and enduring.
