Finestra Designs
Brookdale Park Fall 2026
Finestra means window in Italian; in jewelry, it translates into dynamic design. Many of my designs combine the logic and grace of classical architecture with a crisp modern aesthetic. The shapes of the specially cut gems flow with the structure of the mountings, enhancing and integrating metal and stone. I design many architecturally inspired pieces with detailed openwork and piercing; you can look at or through them like a window.

Also a painter and sculptor, I have enjoyed carving in many different mediums, from wood to stone. While attending art school, I was introduced to wax carving and the ancient technique of lost wax casting.
I fell in love with the process, as it best enables me to bring my design ideas to fruition.

I hand-carve all my designs in wax, using files, burs, and carving knives to achieve my designs. Working this way is like making a small sculpture. Wax carving allows me to carve visually exciting designs from all angles. For example, the shanks of the rings are as interesting as their settings! These design considerations are essential, as jewelry is an art form that constantly moves when adoring the wearer, showing many different perspectives! In addition to designing and wax carving, I enjoy fabricating, soldering, polishing, and setting my work, all of which I make in my studio!

Before founding Finestra Designs, I was a freelance designer, creating custom work, original designs, and wax models.

Finestra was born from a need to claim my work as my own!
I have worked hard over the years to create and build my jewelry business, Finestra Designs, which has attracted a loyal following of art enthusiasts and jewelry collectors who's support of my work enables me to do the thing that I love!

I truly enjoy showing my work with the many talented artists and artisans at the fine craft shows I participate in.
Working alongside so many creative people is fascinating and inspiring!

I also enjoy teaching and find it rewarding to assist other artists in learning how to create jewelry by hand!

I am delighted that I have a career in the arts, where I can follow my artistic aesthetic and be inspired by so many wonderful and creative people!
