I believe that life is not ordinary, but that there is a heroic, monumental, and divine capacity to the human spirit, which sculpture offers me an avenue to express.

The voluminous shapes are aesthetically pleasing and intoxicating to me but also serve to emphasize the largeness and capacity of the soul. The largeness of my forms also symbolizes an abundance, and someone has said, and I wholly concur, that “whether enclosed within themselves or interacting with another form, their subtle ‘actions’ evoke a depth of empathy.”

I want the viewer to be reminded that there is an indomitable force for goodness within each of us, which we can all draw upon to transcend every difficulty. I intend and believe I can offer artwork that is not only unique but also can offer a refuge from the ordinariness and trials of everyday living and an inspiration for greatness and fortitude.

My work looks not outwards, but inwards. It’s a window to my soul, a serious attempt to give form to an inner light and life which I feel within. I often start with just an idea, which I then seek for suitable forms to express. I rarely use models even in my more figurative work. I believe that to capture something extraordinary and unique, the artist must find it in his mind and heart, and not with his eyes, which can then inform creativity, the kind of creativity that can truly inspire, empower, and uplift.
