My name is Nicholas Ricci, and I enjoy wearing Band-Aids on my fingers and hands. Lots and lots of bandages, all shapes and sizes. Fortunately, I discovered glass as my medium. Just as cuts and snicks mar my hands, imperfections are allowed to touch my work. My goal with each piece is to arrange the world of color, light and transparency into ordered, linear structures, while acknowledging that‘s not what makes life interesting or exciting - it’s those slight blemishes and imperfections in those exact patterns that best define us, not matter how imperceptible (or glaring). My work ranges from functional vessels to ornamental display pieces, some delicate and small, many dense and weighty, but each one unique. I hope there is a piece in my collected works that calls to you.
