My work is inspired by moments of quiet attention—those instances when light, atmosphere, and space come together in a way that feels briefly held. I am drawn to places that invite slowing down: edges of water, shifting skies, softened landforms, and the subtle relationships between shadow and color.
I often begin by walking or spending time simply looking, allowing a sense of mood to emerge before anything feels resolved. Painting gives me a way to stay with those impressions longer, to explore how restraint and suggestion can carry emotion more powerfully than detail.
What matters most to me is creating work that feels unforced and contemplative—images that offer viewers a pause rather than a narrative, and a quiet place to rest their attention and reflect on their own experience.
